Online Safety

Online safety is an extremely important part of keeping children safe at Our Lady Queen of Peace . We have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any online safety incidents are recorded and managed using our safeguarding reporting procedures. Online safety is taught each half term across all keystages using a progressive scheme of work from National Online Safety that covers all the strands of the 'UKCIS Education in a connected world' framework. Elements of Online safety are also covered within our Computing and PSHE lessons. These lessons explain and demonstrate how to stay safe and behave appropriately online whilst also teaching older pupils ways to manage risk.  You can see a full overview of our online safety teaching below.

To be successful in keeping children safe online it is imperative that we work with parents to ensure the online safety messages are consistent. both at home and school and it is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online we are also a member of National Online safety where parents can access information an extensive variety of Online Safety topics.  In order to access this content you will need to sign up as a parent using the link that you will have or will soon receive.  Once signed up you can access courses for parents, webinars and weekly help guides.  This content is available in the form of an App and via the web.

#WakeupWednesday

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting and encouraging online safety across our school community we may from time to time send out helpguides from the #wakeupwednesday' campaign. These will be guides that we feel will benefit parents at our school, directly link to a topic we have been recently discussing or provide further information on a concern raised or identified.
